Enamel lamp with Japanese Landscape
Using the technique of hera-shibori (metal spinning), we made a unique lamp shade.

The shape in which the inside and the outside warp while gently reversing, was made by enlarging the application of winding the rim outside for reinforcement and to prevent distortion, as to those general enamel products.

The motif of the shape is based on the roofs of the shrines and temple that have formed the Japanese landscape since ancient times. Curl, uses the same curve as the roof of a shrine that draws magnificent curves.

In the process of making the shade, a technique called hera-shibori is used by pressing the rotating metal plate with a rod called “hera” (spatula).

Together with enamel craftsmen, the shape and thickness of the curled plate was explored without applying the process of winding the rim outside.
