Carton Furniture Series (CFS) was originally created as part of a project that centered on creating furniture of paper. The series includes three products: Kids Set, High Stool and Low Stool. Riki Watanabe’s 1965 design has been in reproduction since 2006 by METROCS.

CFS Kids Set includes a table and two chairs. Riki Watanabe designed this innovative and Japanesque product that is made completely of folded cardboard. The chairs fit perfectly under the table and therefore, the compact set will not take much space when not in use. In 1967, CFS Kids Set won the Mainichi Industrial Design Prize (currently: Mainichi Design Prize). METROCS launched a new color variation, yellow, in 2009.

Riki Watanabe originally designed this product in 1965. Even though it is made of recyclable material, cardboard, the stool is very sturdy. When the stool was launched, it was said that four of them could hold the weight of an elephant. Besides of the orthodox use of the stool, it can be used as a decorative element or even as children’s building blocks, which has made it very popular in kindergartens. METROCS launched a new color variation, yellow, in 2009.
