METROCS - Joe Colombo's Boby Wagon and Other Product Design Masterpieces

Welcome to METROCS

It is already 10 years since I started introducing Italian Joe Colombo's, who passed away at the young age of 41, designs in Japan. One of these classics is Boby Wagon.

I do not believe in buying design because of the designer's name but because of finding the item itself appealing. That is the point where the learning process starts: first about the designer and thereafter possibly purchasing his/hers other items for a collection. No matter what, the first move is to pick up a product. There is a whole wide world of design to introduce, and that is what we want to do.

I am most fascinated by designers who have remained in history by managing to create something that lasts long even after they have passed away. With that fascination, already twenty years has passed. That is also the kind of design I wish to introduce to other people. The products that we introduce are not receiving admiration only in Japan but have gained appreciation abroad. I believe the reason is having a sense for history and fairness.

We are looking forward to the next step ? and hope that you are, too.

Brand Lines

METROCS has two brand lines. "METROCS" concentrates on European and Japanese product design whereas "n-crafts@metrocs" introduces present Japanese handicrafts.

METROCS

METROCS introduces quality design from the 1960 to 1980s. Quality products are not only defined by their design, material and makers' skills but most importantly by the great idea and drive of both the designer and the manufacturer. Quality design is fresh and interesting no matter how much time passes by and that is what METROCS wants to offer.
